It is extremely strange that in the micro region the climate is so diverse. It is like that due to a large, for such a small area, morphological diversity of the area. Another factor should also be mentioned, which is undoubtedly the type of flora, and, in consequence, the kind of soil and finally, differences in change of the level. There are several places, each of which is marked by separate climate. Such places should be noted as: Sokole Góry, the Wiercica Valley, Wodšca or the Ojców National Park area. Still, it should be remarked that average annual temperature comes to 8°C, while the rainfall amounts to about 700 mm. That does not mean that when it is 10°C on the hilltops, the same temperature prevails in the valleys. When walking along the Jurassic routes in spring, each tourist will see that while you can already sunbathe on the hills, the temperature in the valleys comes close to 0°C. As a curiosity, it should be noted that the average period the snow covers the Cracow - Częstochowa Upland is about 80 days, while vegetation period in the western part of the area is 210 days, and in the east - 200 days. Such climate is conditioned among others by constant Icelandic depression and arctic high-pressure whose activity can be felt mainly in winter. In summer, however, we can feel the influence of high-pressure from the Azores and other fronts from the south, whose activity is unfortunately strongly inhibited by the Carpatian massif.
